I’m not sure how Mission4Maureen heard about us, but they were a Godsend. My son was diagnosed with glioblastoma last November and I was unable to work for 6 months. I am self employed, so my business suffered greatly. We were driving from North Idaho to Seattle every week for radiation and now drive 2 1/2 hours biweekly to Spokane,WA to get chemo. Our experience with Mission4Maureen was brief but unbelievably helpful at a very stressful time in our lives. The medical circumstances surrounding childhood cancer are stressful enough, and the financial burdens only exacerbate it. Just when we thought there was no relief in sight, our prayers were answered faithfully when we received an unbelievable letter from the Mission4Maureen. Needless to say, we were ecstatic and overwhelmed with the response we received. In the past, we have donated to other organizations that help families in need in similar circumstances, never knowing that we would one day be a recipient of others’ generosity! If others knew that one day it could be “their” family member, perhaps there would be many more programs available. Again, we’re so thankful for organizations such as Mission4Maureen and all of the kind and compassionate individuals, families and businesses that band together to donate time and financial resources to assist families in crisis.

Mission4Maureen is an awesome & supportive organization. They stepped in during a very challenging time in my life & assisted with my mortgage. After my 2nd Brain Tumor Removal surgery in June 2008, I was in the hospital for almost a month recovering and basically learning to walk all over again. The planner that I am, I simply did not expect nor could effectively plan for the length of time that I would be away from my job on medical leave. The decline of the economy happened at the same time. This whole experience has been an unanticipated and humbling one. Once am released to return to work, which WILL happen, I feel obligated to make a contribution to Mission4Maureen to help another family.

My fifteen year old daughter was diagnosed with a brain stem tumor. We learned about Mission4Maureen from the hospital social worker. After a very simple application process we learned that even though my daughter lost her battle with cancer a very short time later, Mission4Maureen would still assist our family financially. They paid our mortgage which was a true blessing to us financially.

Within no time our reserve funds were used up. We would have been out on the street with a very sick child had it not been for this network. This foundation was one of the best to work with when we where in major need for our daughter Madison. I had put out hundreds of applications for assistance trying to help get my family back on there feet when our daughter was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor back in January of 2008. Mission4Maureen was one of the first places to contact me back and made it very simple to be able to use their services. They where so compassionate and helpful, and really did their all to make our difficult time so much more easy on us. If it was not for them we could not have made it through or kept our home due to being out of work so long to rehabilitate our daughter after surgery. They are a wonderful foundation and I thank God that we were directed to them in our time of need. They are truly angels to our family.

Mission4Maureen stepped in when we were in dire need of help… they are absolutely wonderful!! Our daughter, only 23 months old at the time, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor, and I, her mother, stopped working to stay at home to care for her. Our household income immediately went from two to one and a lot of extra expenses were added for her care. Mission4Maureen completely understood our situation and did not hesitate to help us… tremendously! I cannot even explain how thankful we were. It allowed us to put all of our focus in the right places instead of worrying about what we were going to do to make ends meet.
